New Zealand and Canadian Army snipers shoot side-by-side with scout snipers serving with 1st Reconnaissance Battalion and 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, at Range 108 during Exercise Dawn Blitz 2013 here, June 12. Throughout the day of shooting, the snipers shared different tips and techniques taught by their different units and schools. During the live-fire exercise, the snipers engaged known distance, unknown distance and one-shot-one-kill targets up to 1,200 meters away. Dawn Blitz 2013 is a scenario-driven exercise designed to test Navy and Marine Corps forces at the Marine Expeditionary Brigade (MEB) and Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) level, while promoting military-to-military cooperation and interoperability with partnered nations.
