Elements of the I Marine Expeditionary Force have begun staging in Kuwait in preparation for Operation Iraqi Freedom II.

After a long journey, starting in Camp Pendleton, Calif., the Marines and sailors are awaiting the push north at Camp Victory, where they keep their skills sharp with small-unit training and by spending time in the camp's gym.

When the Marines move north, they will relieve the Army's 82nd Airborne Division west of Baghdad, conducting security and stabilization operations.
