Joint U.S. and Danish service members with Task Force Al Asad discuss current and planned support to the Iraqi Security Forces during an operations and intelligence staff meeting at Al Asad Air Base, Iraq, Dec. 29, 2015. The task force’s mission is to enable the al-Jazira al-Badiyah Operations Center and the 7th Iraqi Army Division through building partner capacity, and advise and assist support. The operations center conducts combat operations against Daesh (an Arabic acronym for ISIL) in the Euphrates River Valley. By enabling Iraqi Security Forces through advise and assist, and building partner capacity missions, the Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve’s multinational coalition is helping the Government of Iraq to set the conditions to defeat Daesh.
