Chief of Staff, I Marine Expeditionary Force
Colonel Brian Rideout

Colonel Rideout holds a baccalaureate degree in Psychology from Ohio Wesleyan University, a Master of Science in Information Technology Management from the Naval Postgraduate School, a Master of Military Studies from Marine Corps University and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.  He is a graduate of the Infantry Officer Course, Military Intelligence Officer Basic Course, Amphibious Warfare School, MAGTF Intelligence Officer Course and Defense Acquisition University.

 

Command tours include: Scout/Sniper Platoon Commander, 2d Battalion, 4th Marines; Company Commander, H&S Company, 1st Reconnaissance Battalion; and Company Commander, Company C, 1st Recon Battalion; Commanding Officer, 3d Marine Raider Support Battalion, Marine Corps Forces, Special Operations Command; and Commanding Officer, I MEF Information Group (MIG).

 

Principal Staff assignments include: Target Intelligence Officer, 1st Marine Division G-2; Assistant Intelligence Officer, 2d Battalion, 4th Marines; Recon and Surveillance Coordinator, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit; Chief Instructor and Director, Ground Intelligence Officer course, Navy and Marine Corps Intelligence Training Center; Intelligence Officer, 1st Recon Battalion; Operations Officer, 1st Marine Division G-2; Team Leader, Geospatial and Imagery Intelligence Team and Team Leader, Rapid Prototyping Team, Marine Corps Systems Command; Plans Officer, III Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) G-2; Chief of Staff, Operations, Joint Special Operations Task Force-Philippines; Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff, Intelligence, III MEF; Chief of Targets, U.S. Africa Command (USAFRICOM), Division Chief, Intelligence Operations, USAFRICOM; and Chief of Staff, I MEF.

 

Colonel Rideout graduated with distinction from the MAGTF Intelligence Officer Course, Naval Postgraduate School, Marine Corps Command & Staff and Naval War Colleges.  Additionally, he received the Marine Corps Intelligence Association Lieutenant Colonel Wayne B. Mason, Intelligence Instructor of the Year Award and the Naval Postgraduate School Rear Admiral Grace Murray Hopper Information Technology Management Award.

 

Colonel Rideout is married with three children.
