Sergeant Major Labaran enlisted into the Marine Corps on 14 September 1998 and completed Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, CA. Upon graduation from Recruit Training, Sergeant Major Labaran proceeded to Marine Combat Training at Camp Pendleton, CA for instruction and then to Fort Sill, OK to the Cannon Crewman's Course.
