From Petco Park to the Pacific: San Diego Padres prepare care packages for VMFA-232

The San Diego Padres knocked it out of the park sending a morale boost across the Pacific by partnering with U.S. Marines from Marine Aircraft Group 11, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, and local volunteers in building and sending care packages to deployed Marines with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 232, MAG-11, 3rd MAW.

Marine Corps’ second F-35C Lightning II squadron declares initial operational capability

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION MIRAMAR, Calif.--Demonstrating the Marine Corps’ commitment to aviation advancement, Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 311, Marine Aircraft Group 11, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, declared initial operational capability on July 31, 2024.

Second Marine F-35C Squadron Conquers “Safe for Flight” Certification

The Marine Corps’ second fleet squadron to operate the F-35C Lightning II was declared “Safe for Flight,” at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, September 13, 2023. The Safe for Flight certification means that Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 311, Marine Aircraft Group (MAG) 11, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, has the maintenance programs, processes, and trained Marines in place to independently conduct flight operations.
