In 2023, 6,000 Marines and Sailors deployed across 13 countries during 25 major operations, throughout every combatant command to increase warfighting readiness, enhance forward posture and refine innovation initiatives. I MEF provides the Marine Corps a globally responsive, expeditionary, and fully scalable Marine Air-Ground Task Force, capable of generating, deploying and employing ready forces and formations for crisis response, forward presence, major combat operations and campaigns.
