I MEF completes August 2023 MRF-D MV-22B Osprey mishap investigation
The command investigation into the cause of the Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 363 (REIN), Marine Rotational Force-Darwin MV-22B Osprey mishap on Melville Island, Australia, on Aug. 27, 2023, is complete. We have provided the results of the investigation to the families of our fallen Marines and provided all available resources to them during this difficult time.

15th MEU, USS Somerset join partner nations at 29th Exercise Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC)
Nearly 1,400 U.S. Marines assigned to the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit and Sailors assigned to the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Somerset (LPD 25) will participate in the 29th biennial Exercise Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2024 from June 27 to Aug. 1, around the Hawaiian Islands.

U.S. Marines and Sailors to conduct Koa Moana 24 in Pacific Island Countries
Koa Moana 24, a mission involving U.S. Marines and Sailors from I Marine Expeditionary Force, has commenced its annual rotational deployment to the Indo-Pacific Island countries of the Republic of Palau, the Federated States of Micronesia and Papua New Guinea, marking the conclusion of exercise Valiant Shield 24. This deployment aims to strengthen relationships with Pacific Island partners through bilateral and multilateral theater security cooperation and community engagements, running until the end of September.
