The transmissions exercise set out to develop, improve, and validate tactics, techniques, and procedures of Transmissions Platoon, Company A.  The exercise consisted of a build phase, where Marines rehearsed individual skills, build fire team/squad TTPs, then executed a variety of missions in an urban and austere environment.

Utilities Marines attached to Transmissions Platoon, Company A establish a tactical power grid for the Main Detachment at their objective.  Utility Marines were able to establish the power grid rapidly, which significantly decreased the time needed to establish radio communications.

Mission
The 9th Communication Battalion's mission statement is to: On order, 9th Communication Battalion operates and defends information networks across all domains in order to allow the Marine Air Ground Task Force Command Element to integrate combat power.
