Sergeant Major Trevor L. Goff was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and joined the Marine Corps Jan. 28th, 2002. He attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego.
Throughout his career, Sergeant Major Goff has served with: Marine Wing Support Squadron-271; Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division; 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines; Marine Forces Special Operations Command; 5th Battalion, 11th Marines; 1st Marine Logistics Group; 2nd Marine Raider Battalion; 1st Marine Raider Battalion; 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines; and I Marine Expeditionary Force Support Battalion.
Sergeant Major Goff has served as a Marine Security Guard at the U.S. Embassy in Lisbon, Portugal, and U.S. Embassy Bogota, Colombia. He also has served as a career counselor at Headquarters Marine Corps and as part of the Personnel Exchange Program with the Royal Marines at Commando Training Centre Royal Marines in the United Kingdom.
Sergeant Major Goff has deployed to Kuwait, and subsequently Iraq, in January of 2003 with Marine Wing Support Squadron 271; Afghanistan in 2008 with 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, and in 2013 with 5th Battalion, 11th Marines; East Africa in 2020-2021 with Marine Special Operations Company F, 2nd Marine Raider Battalion. He has also participated in exercise Rim of the Pacific 2022 with 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines; Unit Deployment Program (UPD) 23.1 to Okinawa from 2022-2023 with 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines; and most recently to Exercises Balikatan 2024 and 2025 in the Philippines with I MEF Support Battalion.
Sergeant Major Goff Assumed his current duties as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit in July of 2025.
His personal decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (gold star in lieu of forth award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, and the Basic Parachutist Badge.
