In May of 2024, Lieutenant Colonel (LtCol) Reagles assumed command of 1st Intelligence Battalion at Camp Pendleton, California. Where he serves as the Commanding Officer. In July 2004 LtCol Robert Reagles enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve. Upon completing recruit training, he was assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron (Det -) in Minneapolis, Minnesota, from 2004 to 2006.
In June 2006, he graduated from Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota and attended The Basic School, Infantry Officer Course, and Ground Intelligence Officers Course. Upon graduation, he was assigned to 2d Intelligence Battalion and deployed to support Joint Task Force North and OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM.
In May 2010, First Lieutenant Reagles reported to 6th Marines where he served as the Assistant Intelligence Officer. He was promoted to Captain and re-assigned to 1st Battalion, 9th Marines in October 2010 as the Battalion Intelligence Officer.
In May 2011, Captain Reagles deployed with 1st Battalion, 9th Marines in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM to Nawa, Afghanistan. Post the OEF 11.2 deployment, Captain Reagles was selected on the Commandants Career Level Education Board (CCLEB) and assigned to Expeditionary Warfare School (EWS) from July 2012 to June 2013.
In June 2013, Captain Reagles was assigned to the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) as the Assistant Intelligence Officer. He supported several Theater Security Cooperation (TSC) exercises, including IRON FIST, AQUA TERRA, PANAMAX, and RIMPAC, where he served as a lead planner for the 15th MEU. From May 2015 to December 2015, he deployed with the 15th MEU ISO WESTPAC 15-1 and was selected to be a Team OIC and lead Intelligence Advisor assigned to Joint Coalition Planning Cell supporting a GCC entity and inter-agency partner from July 2015 to November 2015.
In June 2016, Major Reagles served as the Commanding Officer for Marine Cryptologic Support Battalion (MCSB), Company H in San Antonio, Texas, and also oversaw Marine Corps community relations events with the City of San Antonio, Military Affairs Office.
In June of 2019, Major Reagles was selected for Commandant's Professional Intermediate-Level Education Board (CPIB) and attended the Army's Command and General Staff Officer Course (CGSOC), earning a Master's in Operational Studies.
In June 2020, Major Reagles was assigned to 1st Radio Battalion, where he served as the Operations Officer for a year. In July of 2021, he was assigned as 1st Radio Battalion's Executive Officer until he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and re-assigned to the I MEF G2.
In July 2022, he assumed duties as the I MEF G2 Operations Officer, overseeing intelligence support to several TSC exercises and intelligence support for the I MEF JTF certification in April of 2022. In July 2023, Lieutenant Colonel Reagles transferred to the Deputy AC/S I MEF G2 position.
