Lieutenant Colonel Hickman was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and graduated from Utah State University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. She subsequently served in Utah state government as a social services specialist, Aide to the Governor of Utah, and Director of the Office of the First Lady of Utah.
In August 2007, Lieutenant Colonel Hickman commissioned as a second lieutenant following Officer Candidate School graduation. Upon completion of The Basic School and Logistics Officer Course, she was assigned to General Support Maintenance Company (GSM), 2d Maintenance Battalion and served as the Executive Officer. In March 2009, she served as the Executive Officer for Transportation Support Company, deploying with 2d Maintenance Battalion Reinforced in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM 09.2. Following deployment, she served as the Company Commander for GSM Company through July of 2010.
In August 2010, First Lieutenant Hickman served at Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 36 as the S-4 Officer, deploying in support of OPERATION TOMODACHI in 2011. In June 2012, she was assigned to 1st Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) G4 as the Operations Officer. In June 2013 Captain Hickman reported to Quantico, Virginia for Expeditionary Warfare School. She then served as the Program Development Section Head at the Behavioral Health Branch, Marine and Family Programs through July 2017. She subsequently attended resident Command and Staff College in Quantico, Virginia.
Following graduation, Major Hickman reported to 1st Supply Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group as the Executive Officer. In April 2019, Major Hickman assumed duties as the Operations Officer of Combat Logistics Battalion 15, executing Special Purpose MAGTF Alaska. Major Hickman then transitioned in September 2020 to 1st Marine Logistics Group where she served as the Future Operations Officer, G3. In August of 2022, she then reported to I MEF Support Battalion as the Operations Officer. In August 2023, Lieutenant Colonel Hickman transferred to I MEF G-4, as Plans Officer through May 2024.
Lieutenant Colonel Hickman holds a Masters in Military Studies, is a distinguished graduate of Expeditionary Warfare School, and is a recipient of the Megan McClung Leadership Award.
