MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. -- I Marine Expeditionary Force and Marine Corps Installations West–Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton launched Operation Clean Sweep III today, driving barracks improvements from across the Western region in the latest push to improve living spaces and boost readiness. The two-week surge mobilizes Marines, Sailors, and installation teams to complete critical self-help projects, upgrade common areas, and strengthen operational readiness.
OCS III expands across Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, and Marine Corps Air Station Yuma. Building on the momentum from previous Clean Sweeps, this iteration further concentrates time, tools, and trained teams on high-impact fixes in common areas and living spaces.
The Barracks 360 Reset initiative began in 2024 with recurring “clean sweep” stand-downs to surge maintenance and self-help support. The first iteration at Camp Pendleton ran Oct. 16–30, 2024, addressing deferred work through both self-help and contracted support. OCS II followed March 24–April 11, 2025, expanding training while broadening resources to additional bases.
Across the series, senior leaders prioritized resources and set conditions that enabled Marines and Sailors to complete more than 8,500 self-help projects and over 4,500 work orders. Building on those results, OCS III’s sustainment plan advances Barracks 360 Reset and connects to the Marine Corps’ long-term Barracks 2030 modernization, keeping unaccompanied housing safe, functional, and sustainable for the force.
I MEF and MCIWEST’s Barracks 360 Reset is a joint initiative to improve living conditions and operational readiness through enhanced command oversight, maintenance backlog reduction, and resident engagement.
