I MEF rotates forces under Task Force Forge at southern border

U.S. Marines and Sailors with 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, have assumed operational responsibilities from Combat Logistics Battalion 15, Combat Logistics Regiment 17, 1st Marine Logistics Group, along the U.S. southern border as Task Force Forge assigned to Joint Task Force–Southern Border, today. 

This morning, commanding officers and key leaders from 1st CEB and CLB 15 conducted a transfer of authority ceremony at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Ariz. 

Working alongside U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Border Patrol, the task force will continue to provide critical engineering and logistical support in accordance with the presidential executive order issued Jan. 20, 2025.

“Task Force Forge is postured to continue defending our nation's territorial integrity with expertise and resolve," said Lt. Col. Tyrone Barrion, Task Force Forge's incoming commanding officer.  "We are committed to achieving operational control of the southern border, enabling unity of effort with our interagency partners and Joint Task Force-Southern Border, and building upon the achievements of the previous team.”
