U.S., Singapore Forces sharpen combined arms skills, relations at Camp Pendleton

Marines of 1st Battalion, 5th Marines Regiment, 1st Marine Division are scheduled to conduct live fire combined arms training with elements of the 7th Singapore Infantry Brigade aboard Camp Pendleton from Dec. 4 to Dec. 19 as a part of Exercise Valiant Mark 14.2, an enduring bilateral training exercise between the U.S. Marine Corps and the Singaporean Armed Forces.
 
Exercise Valiant Mark 14.2 aims to enhance U.S. and Singapore forces combined combat readiness through live fire and urban terrain training as well as amphibious operations familiarization.
 
As background, Exercise Valiant Mark is held in alternating locations between Singapore and the U.S. The first iteration of this exercise, Valiant Mark 14.1, was held in January 2014 in Singapore.
 
Media are invited to attend the Exercise Valiant Mark 14.2 opening ceremony on Thurs, Dec. 4 at 10:30 a.m. aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton which will include remarks from Singaporean Armed Forces senior leadership and the Deputy Commanding General of I Marine Expeditionary Force. Opportunities are also available for interviews with military members participating in the training at the end of the ceremony and during key training events throughout the exercise.
