INDONESIA (Aug. 18, 2018) - U.S. and Indonesian Marines train together in the jungle during Cooperation Afloat Readiness And Training (CARAT) Indonesia 2018. CARAT Indonesia, in its 24th iteration, is designed to enhance information sharing and coordination, build mutual warfighting capability and support long-term regional cooperation enabling both partner armed forces to operate effectively together as a unified maritime force. 13th MEU Combat Camera, Camp Pendleton (October 6, 2016) - WestPac-16 deployment February 2016 to September 2016. The 13th MEU deployed to 5th and 7th fleet area of operations providing close air support to Iraqi security forces and the coalition fighting ISIL in Operation Inherent Resolve. The Fighting 13th supported the UAE-led coalition fighting Al Qaeda in Mukalla, Yemen. The Fighting 13th participated in multinational training exercises SSang Yong in South Korea and Eager Lion in Jordan. The Fighting 13th participated in theater security cooperation engagements with military counterparts in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia.
