U.S. Marines with 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division participate in Mountain Training Exercise 2-17, Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center Bridgeport, Calif., March 1, 2017. MCMWTC is one of the Marine Corps’ most secluded posts, comprised of approximately 46,000 acres of terrain with elevations ranging from 5,000 to 11,000 feet. 1st Combat Engineer Battalion conducted scenario-driven training that encompassed mobility, counter-mobility and survivability operations in a mountainous, snow-covered environment that challenged 1st CEB to generate combat engineering solutions to infantry driven tasks.

U.S Marines with 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division participate in Mountain Training Exercise 2-17 at Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport, Calif., Feb. 24-27, 2017. 1st CEB conducted scenario-driven training that encompassed mobility, counter-mobility and survivability operations in a mountainous, snow-covered environment that challenged 1st CEB to generate combat engineering solutions to infantry driven tasks. Marines and Sailors with Combat Logistics Battalion 11, 1st Marine Logistics Group, test their operational capacity and capabilities as a logistics and support unit during Mountain Exercise 6-15 at Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport, California. Marines and sailors assigned to Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division, conducted Mountain Warfare Training Exercise 5-15 aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center Bridgeport, Calif., Sept. 7-17, 2015. The high-intensity training covered maneuvering tactically through mountainous terrain using rope climbing and rappelling techniques as well as survival tactics in rugged environments to enhance Marines' and sailors' abilities to fight in austere circumstances.

Sustainment Training in Djibouti

U.S. Marine 1st. Lt. Hunter Harrison speaks about the sustainment training conducted by India Company, Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Harrison is a platoon commander with India Co, BLT 3/1. The Marines of BLT 3/1 executed a series of attack and maneuver drills consisting of machine gun, grenade, rocket, squad and night attacks. Elements of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit are ashore in Djibouti for sustainment training to maintain and enhance the skills they developed during their pre-deployment training period. The 15th MEU is currently deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of operation.
