HMLA 267 Joins Forces with Airmen During Search and Rescue Training

Marine pilots with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 267 (HMLA), and Air Force pilots with 34th Weapons Squadron conducted joint combat search and rescue training aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Oct. 28, 2014. The training improved interoperability between the two branches of service and familiarized them with new tactics ensuring optimal performance in future joint combat scenarios. The training also acted as formal schooling for the 34th Weapons Squadron, ensuring that the airmen within it were fully prepared to go back to their native unit and serve as instructors for search and rescue personnel. Marines, Sailors Set Up HA/DR Village During Fleet Week San Francisco 2014

Marines and sailors set up a humanitarian assistance and disaster relief village to highlight the capabilities the Marine Corpse and Navy can provide in the event of a natural disaster during Fleet Week San Francisco, Oct. 10, 2014. During Fleet Week, Marine units will demonstrate assets available for the Bay Area in response to a sudden crisis. The intent is to showcase the amphibious nature, readiness and the ability to respond to disasters and highlight the role the Navy-Marine Corps team can play in assisting disaster victims.
