Marines with 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, were awarded for their actions in Afghanistan during a ceremony here,June 11, 2013. First Lt. Stephen Huff and Cpl. Jorge Salazar received the Bronze Star Medal with Combat "V" for valor for their actions in Trek Nawa, Helmand province, Afghanistan. Sergeant Trey Cholewa and Gunnery Sgt. Benjamin Stryffeler received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat "V" for valor for their actions. Available in high definition.

Salazar led his squad after his squad leader was wounded by an improvised explosive device. He directed the fire of his squad even after his legs were severed by a subsequent IED blast.
