Marines with 1st Marine Division train throughout the year to ensure that they can meet our nation's call when needed. Since 1941, the Division has fought and ensured the safety and security of our and allied partner. 2016 was a year that say our Marines in continual operations in the Middle East supporting Iraqi forces in the fight against ISIL, aboard the 11th, 13, and 15th Marine Expeditionary Units in the Pacific, and training for the future - making us the most engaged ground combat element in the Marine Corps today.
