Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) is completing the NAVY's first full-length ARG Surface Warfare Advanced Tactical Training (SWATT) Exercise. Combat Logistics Battalion 13 has and will continue to be the Logistics Combat Element (LCE) for the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). The LCE, about 250 Marines and Sailors strong, provides combat support such as supply, maintenance, transportation, explosive ordnance disposal, military police, water purification and distribution, engineering, medical and dental services, fuel storage and distribution, and other services to the deployed MEU.
