Cpl. Michael Zarate, 22, and his patrol drug-detection dog, Roy, search a building for drugs and anyone evading arrest at the compound of a known Taliban commander and drug trafficker in Marjah, Afghanistan, May 18. Zarate, from Chula Vista, Calif., helped secure locate evidence against the suspect with his canine. The team of Afghan Counter Narcotic National Police, Drug Enforcement Administration and the Marines successfully arrested the Afghan government’s primary drug and terrorist target in Marjah.
