Afghan children stand outside a compound enjoying cans of soda they were given by soldiers with the 31st Light Infantry Battalion from the Republic of Georgia and a small group of U.S. Marines assigned to Alpha Company, Georgian Liaison Team-11, during a shura that was hosted in the village in Now Zad District, Helmand province, Afghanistan, March 7, 2014. The goal of the patrol was to clear the village of any possible insurgent threat, gather intelligence on the area and host a shura to talk to the local people.
