U.S. Marines and Sailors with Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force South exit an MV-22 Osprey after being inserted at Marambaia Island, Brazil, Aug. 4, 2014. The SPMAGTF personnel, arriving from the future amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), came to the island to participate in a theater security cooperation event with Brazilian Naval forces. The TSC event is made up to include multiple bi-lateral exchanges of medical treatment, improvised explosive device detection, combat tracking and combat marksmanship. Through close cooperation, the U.S. and its partners are ready to address transnational security challenges through integrated and coordinated approaches. SPMAGTF-South is currently embarked aboard the future amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) in support of her maiden transit, "America Visits the Americas." (U.S. Marine Corps Photo by Cpl.
