Rear Adm. Frank L. Ponds, commander of Expeditionary Strike Group 3, presents a plaque to a Salvadoran official during a leadership conference aboard the future amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), Sept. 8, 2014. The leadership conference was part of a key leader engagement with the ship’s command and Salvadoran officials focusing on the importance of partnership and cooperation between our two nations. Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force South is embarked aboard America in support of her maiden transit, "America Visits the Americas."
