A U.S. Marine with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron-363, Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Central Command, fires an M240 medium machine gun from the back of an MV-22 Osprey during aerial gunnery training over the Arabian Gulf, July 27, 2016. The squadron provides SPMAGTF-CR-CC with assault support, as well as transport of combat troops, supplies and equipment during expeditionary, joint or combined operations. SPMAGTF – CR – CC is a self-sustaining expeditionary unit, designed to provide a broad range of crisis response capabilities throughout the Central Command area of responsibility, using organic aviation, logistical, and ground combat assets, to include embassy reinforcement and tactical recovery of aircraft and personnel.
