U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Vincent Tran, a maritime sensing chief, with Marine Rotational Force-Southeast Asia, I Marine Expeditionary Force, retrieves a RQ-20 PUMA, a small, unmanned aircraft system after a planned water landing at a shore-based maritime sensing site for a simulated close air support activity during MRF-SEA 23 in Sorsogon, Luzon, Philippines, Oct. 11, 2023. Maritime sensing sites improve the maritime domain awareness picture and improve lethality of the joint force. MRF-SEA is a Marine Corps Forces Pacific operational model which involves planned exchanges with subject matter experts, promotes security goals with Allies and partners, and positions I MEF forces west of the International Date Line.
