After refueling a UH-1Y Venom, Lance Cpl. Gerald J. Demontmollin III and Staff Sgt. Samuel J. Galan Jr. standby for permission to board the helicopter Feb. 24, 2016, at Camp Pendleton. The aircrewmen performed simulated assault and close air support training to maintain unit readiness. Galan, a native of Houston, Texas, and Demontmollin, from Grass Valley, are crew chiefs with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 169, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Air Wing.
