I Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) Information Group (I MIG) provides administrative, training, and logistical support while in CONUS and forward deployed to the I MEF and I MEB Command Elements. Additionally, function as Higher Headquarters for the four Major Subordinate Elements in order to allow I MEF CE to execute warfighting functions in support of service and COCOM initiatives as required.

Plan and direct, collect process, produce and disseminate intelligence, and provide, counterintelligence support to the MEF Command Element, MEF major subordinate commands, subordinate Marine Air Group Task Force(MAGTF), and other commands as directed

US MARINES TO CONDUCT REALISTIC CIVIL AFFAIRS TRAINING DURING DAWN BLITZ 2013

Marines from Marine Forces Reserve, 1st Civil Affairs Group will conduct civil military integration training with role-players here as a part of Exercise Dawn Blitz, June 27.

1st CAG will conduct the training in a realistic atmosphere at Camp Pendleton’s Combat Town Deluz to enhance and showcase the abilities of the reserve Marine force used during combat and humanitarian assistance operations throughout the world. 1st CAG serves as the liaison between military forces and civilians in a host nation to identify instabilities and mitigate civic concerns.

The training is part of multinational amphibious exercise Dawn Blitz 2013.

Dawn Blitz 2013 is a scenario-driven, simulation-supported amphibious exercise designed to train Expeditionary Strike Group 3 (ESG 3) and 1st Marine Expeditionary Brigade (1st MEB).

The initial, synthetic scenario occurred Jan. 28-31, 2013, and the final live phase will be conducted June 11-28. Dawn Blitz provides a robust training environment where forces plan and execute an amphibious assault from a seabase in a land-and-maritime threat environment to improve naval amphibious core competencies. A total of 5,000 U.S. forces are participating in Dawn Blitz.

Media will have the opportunity to view the training and interview Marines and spokespersons.
