I Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) Information Group (I MIG) provides administrative, training, and logistical support while in CONUS and forward deployed to the I MEF and I MEB Command Elements. Additionally, function as Higher Headquarters for the four Major Subordinate Elements in order to allow I MEF CE to execute warfighting functions in support of service and COCOM initiatives as required.

Plan and direct, collect process, produce and disseminate intelligence, and provide, counterintelligence support to the MEF Command Element, MEF major subordinate commands, subordinate Marine Air Group Task Force(MAGTF), and other commands as directed

WTI conducts HA/DR at Kiwanis Park

Students and instructors participating in Weapons and Tactics Instructor course 2-15 are scheduled to conduct a humanitarian assistance and disaster relief exercise in Yuma, Ariz., April 17.

The training sponsored by Marine Air Weapons and Tactics Squadron 1, WTI students will execute the scenario-based HA/DR exercise at Kiwanis Park as part of certification and preparation for real-world incidents that require a quick reaction force to extract personnel from hostile situations.

Media who would like interviews are invited to attend a press briefing with MAWTS-1 leadership, April 15. They will answer questions pertaining to the HA/DR exercise, WTI training and its contribution to current and future Marine Corps operations. Due to the fast tempo of the exercise, all questions must be asked during this time. There will be no additional opportunities for follow-ons after the conclusion of the briefing.

Media who wish to attend the press briefing must R.S.V.P. no later than 4 p.m., Monday, April 13. On the day of, media must meet at the MCAS Main Gate on Avenue 3E no later than 4:30pm. A Public Affairs Marine will escort you from the gate to the briefing and back.

Media who wish to attend the exercise in Yuma, April 17, must R.S.V.P. for this event no later than 4 p.m., April 15. Those attending will be provided with additional coordinating instructions at least 24 hours prior to the exercise to include the start and end times of the exercise. Those attending are asked to meet outside of the entrance of the gate at Kiwanis Park for check-in at a time that is to be determined with an official government issued I.D. A Public Affairs Marine will escort you at all times while inside the gate.
