CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. – The morning of February 9, 2025, was anything but typical for many Marines across the 1st Marine Logistics Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force. Based out of Camp Pendleton, the once-in-a-generation fires were still burning in the Eaton and Pacific Palisades communities of Los Angeles, only an hour’s drive north. That morning, only 96 hours after notification, a coalition of U.S. Service members totaling 89 departed for these impacted areas to assist in the clearing and neutralization of hazardous material.
U.S. Marines and Sailors with I Marine Expeditionary Force and Marine Corps Installations West joined forces with U.S. Navy Seabees and civilian contractors across several West Coast installations to conduct Operation Clean Sweep II from March 24 to April 11, 2025.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the U.S. military are joining forces for the 40th iteration of Exercise Balikatan, the largest annual bilateral training exercise between the two allies, from April 21 to May 9. Building on the complexities and achievements of past iterations, this year’s exercise will demonstrate the progress in the AFP’s modernization efforts and further strengthen the U.S. - Philippine Mutual Defense Treaty by enhancing military interoperability and readiness.
Marine Rotational Force – Darwin (MRF-D) 25.3 has commenced its 14th iteration, projecting its operational reach well beyond northern Australia.
